Course content

The focus is on developing instrumental skills. Public appearances at Academy concerts and in chamber music projects form an important part of the course.

Principal study subjects

Orchestral instruments: violin, viola, violoncello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone*, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, percussion/timpani, harp, organ.

Piano, fortepiano, harpsichord, accordion, *saxophone, recorder, guitar and lute can be taken as principal study subjects only on admission to a higher semester after completion of a foundation course (with the grade "very good") in music teaching, or an equivalent course.
